Dog Walking & Pet Sitting Services
in Toronto's East End

Hello, I’m Mary Lou

…and I have been a life-long pet owner (mostly dogs), but I love all animals.

I have 13 years experience looking after all kinds of animals/pets including not only dogs and cats, but also fish, turtles, birds, reptiles, guinea pigs, hamsters and even hedgehogs; some of the latter requiring specific diets (ie insects).

I started my business in 2000 in the west end of Toronto (Etobicoke), but have now re-located to the Beaches area and my dog and I love it. We love meeting new people and pooches every day (I think my dog Bubba has more friends than I do). I love getting to know each animals’ distinct, unique personality and quirks.

I see each outing as an adventure, and I think the doggies should have an adventure and new experience every day; meeting new people and new dogs; seeing new and exciting things.

I pride myself on being mature, caring, trustworthy, reliable, responsible and punctual. You can be assured that I will always take excellent care of your best friend!

  • Available 24/7/365 (evenings , weekends and holidays ) flexible regarding times.
  • Certified in pet first aid; can give medications (ie insulin shots) since my previous dog was diabetic and required 2 needles per day.
  • References available upon request.
  • Walks tailored to your dog’s specific needs ie. Private individual walks for senior or shy dogs, or dogs that prefer individual attention. If they prefer the company of other dogs and want the “pack” experience, small group walks are available for no more than 3-4 dogs at once.
  • In addition to dog walking (either individual or small group walks) and dog or cat sitting in your home, I can also bring in your mail if you are away on vacation or a business trip, water plants (inside or out), check home for insurance purposes (home security check required by some insurance companies every few days) open/close curtains/blinds to make your home look as if you are there which is a deterrent to burglars etc. All to give you peace of mind while you are out of town.
  • Insured with ProFur Insurance  Company.
  • Pet First Aid Certification  with the Dog Guru.
  • Dog Walking Certification  with the Toronto Centre for Canine Education through Dog Tec Dog Walking Academy.

Don’t want to leave your puppy alone? I understand, and can visit your puppy for a 1/2 hour, have some play time, a pee break, and some love to make sure they are happy and content until you get home.

$15 Per 1/2hr Visit (+ hst)

There’s many reasons why your dog may benefit from an individual walk. I am happy to be able to offer one-on-one dog walks for just such an occasion!

$15 Per 1/2hr Walk (+ hst)

Does your dog like to walk with the pack? Great! I offer group walks (maximum of 4 dogs). I can also accommodate either leashed or off-leashed walks, depending on what your dog needs.

$20 Per 1hr Walk (+ hst)

I can stay at your home with your dog while you’re away. Dogs are less stressed out when they are in their own familiar environment. I can keep your regular routine to make it even more comfortable until you return.

$45 Per 24hr Period (+ hst)

I can visit your kitty once a day, or every other day if you prefer. Each visit includes feeding, litter change and play time. I am also able to give any medications your pet requires (pills, insulin).

$15 Per 1/2hr Visit (+ hst)

Is your pet going somewhere? To the Groomers? To the Vet? Hot date at the dog park? I can take them there in style!

Price varies depending on time/distance. Contact me today to find out just how reasonable it can be.

Say that 5 times fast…

Are vaccinations required?

  • Yes, Up-to-date vaccinations such as rabies, bordatella (kennel cough),DHPP,  are required.  Heart worm (flea/tick prevention) is optional (at your discretion). Proof required at initial meet and greet.

Does my dog have to be neutered/spayed?

  • It is preferred, but if your pet is not neutered or spayed it will have to stay on leash for walks for safety sake. Most dog parks do not allow un-neutered or un-spayed dogs.

Does my dog have to have a city license?

  • Yes. All dogs should have a city license, otherwise a by-law officer can fine the owner.

What happens if an emergency arises with my pet?

  • I do have a Pet First Aid Certificate which I renew every few years. Also an advantage to urban living in Toronto, emergency vet clinics are only a short drive away if needed in the event your own personal vet is unavailable.

Are you insured?

  • Yes I have insurance.

What is the cancellation policy?

  • I do not charge for last minute cancellations as I know things happen that are unavoidable.

Are walks on or off leash?

  • This is totally at the owners discretion; whatever you prefer depending on your dogs’ age (seniors or puppies), temperament (shy or aggressive), behaviour issues (doesn’t have a good recall). Dogs will only be let off-leash in a regulated dog-park/area.

Can you wipe off my dogs paws upon returning from the walk?

  • Yes of course. I will also check and refill their water bowl so they have fresh water.

Can you give medications if required?

  • Yes. My previous dog had diabetes so I am quite familiar with giving injections. I have even given needles to cats for diabetes and lots of my previous charges required oral medications which can usually be given in pill pockets, a piece of cheese or meat (whatever you prefer).  My own dog takes thyroid medication twice a day, but doesn’t mind taking the pills since he thinks he is getting a treat when the pills are hidden in some sort of treat/food.
